Deputy director at RE-Source Poland Hub dealing with issues related to the functioning of the cPPA market in Poland, regulations of the renewable energy sector and EU climate policy. Interested in the use of renewable energy in the Middle East and Africa. Previously, he has worked as a consultant at the Investment Center of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, where he advised on the largest investments carried out in Poland. Between 2017-2021, he has work as a consul at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cairo. Master of Law and bachelor degree in Arabic studies.

Topic:
Guarantees of Origin (GOs) are the sole instrument confirming the origin of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES). GOs are gaining popularity among Polish and foreign entities year by year. Increasingly, both exchange and over-the-counter transactions involving GOs are taking place on European markets. Poland's fate regarding accession to the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB), which gathers entities responsible for issuing GOs, is still pending.
In this panel, we will discuss the benefits of Polish consumers and producers' membership in AIB and when this may happen, as well as whether there is an alternative. Additionally, electricity consumers will present to what extent they utilize Guarantees of Origin and whether it is necessary in their case.
